You are spiritually debt free! Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice removed our sins permanently. Are we living freely to serve Christ who bought us at a great price? Do we understand that our life is not our own and that the only reason we’re here is to serve God with the purpose He’s given us?

Ask the Lord to show you daily what His will is for you.

Q: I want to circle back to my opening proposition: All of us CAN enhance our worship experience with God BY noting the WAYS the heavenly sanctuary is far superior to the earthly sanctuary.

Based on the content of today’s lesson, what truths did you learn today that will enhance your worship experience with God?

Remember that the believer’s sanctuary is in heaven. His Father is in heaven and his Saviour is in heaven. His citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3:20) and his treasures should be in heaven (Matt. 6:19ff). And his hope is in heaven. The true believer walks by faith, not by sight. No matter what may happen on earth, a believer can be confident because everything is settled in heaven.

Q: Are you flourishing under the New Covenant?

Older generation wants to stick with what’s familiar. They don’t want computers. They don’t want that kind of change because the old system still works for them – even though they’re missing out on the superior benefits of the newer system. The Hebrew Christians were no different. Familiarity is a powerful thing!

[DEB] Let’s reconvene as the Priest Search Committee. What qualities are found in Jesus that makes him superior over any other candidate we could consider?

  • In the order of Melchizedek
  • Have a dual role of both king and priest
  • One who has the power of an indestructible life
  • Will live eternally
  • Permanent Priest
  • Oath confirmed by God
  • One who is able to save completely
  • One who always lives to intercede for us
  • One who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens
  • Sacrificed sins once for all so that daily sacrifices were unnecessary
  • Made perfect forever

There is one and only one candidate who fits these criteria, and His name is Jesus. He has accepted the call to be our priest forever!! We all need a priest, and thank God He is Jesus.
